Baja California: Road Trip Stops You Can’t Miss Don't miss out the wonders of Baja California has to offer!
Baja California is, without doubt, the perfect destination for those who enjoy long trips, a lot of food, sun, sand, sea, and fun. And this peninsula has it all: Magical Towns, wonderful deserts, and islands, even large cities, which with their great biodiversity will make your vacations unforgettable. Whether you decide to start in the north, driving from San Diego; or on the contrary, flying to San José del Cabo and driving the peninsula from south to north, make your road trip through Baja California and fall in love with one of the best destinations in Mexico. Here you can find a list of steps needed to make your trip the best road trip you’ve ever made:
First stop: Los Cabos
Located between the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean, Los Cabos is the most visited destination of Baja California Sur; This is due to the great infrastructure that has been put in place with the aim of turning it into a great tourist destination. The truth is that Los Cabos is also an excellent starting point to completely explore the peninsula.
Before leaving, visit El Tecolote Beach, a favorite of the locals who enjoy its peaceful waters. Take a boat and sail through the famous Cabo San Lucas Arch or take a walk through that paradise called Cabo Pulmo.
Charge energy in La Paz
La Paz is a beautiful city that offers tourists a wide range of possibilities, from visiting museums —such as the Whale Museum—, walking along its boardwalk, taste the best gastronomy, watching gray whales or snorkeling and diving.
Unlike Los Cabos, La Paz offers you its beautiful virgin beaches where you can relax to the fullest. Dare to visit them and we assure you that you will find your new favorite beach; Don’t forget to tell us which La Paz beach was your favorite!
Paradise awaits you at Playa Balandra
Playa Balandra is located 20 km from La Paz and is famous for being one of the few places that have not been affected by human intervention and has been cataloged as a Protected Natural Area. Bathed by the beautiful waters of the Sea of Cortez, Balandra is a perfect place to walk, camp or kayak.
Getting to Playa de Balandra is very simple, you must take the La Paz-Balandra road from the municipality of La Paz and in 30 minutes you will be immersed in the beauty of this Protected Natural Area in Baja California.
We continue through the Baja Sur, now in Todos Santos
It is a Magical Town settled on a plateau on the edge of the Sierra de La Laguna; privileged by its temperate climate was the home of important sugar mills that provided abundance to its inhabitants. The overexploitation ended with the resources that kept the industry and that splendor was a beautiful town adorned with houses of Californian style that offers tourists a great experience when visiting.
The climate in Todos Santos ranges from 18º to 28º throughout the year, making it a cool oasis in the middle of the Baja California desert.
Close with kitsch: Tijuana
Tijuana is known as La Esquina de México and it is not surprising that the largest city in Baja California has become the most visited border city in the world. Its eclectic character and vibrant nightlife make Tijuana a place you should know. In the land of the margarita, take the opportunity to enjoy the Baja Med cuisine and stroll along Avenida Revolución. Tijuana will always give you unforgettable adventures: take a picture with a zebra-donkey or next to a woman over 33 ft tall.
